Well
our official 11th Birthday is February 2nd 2007 but as the
hall was booked on that date we booked Saturday 20th January.
We
had a superb night with groups from Christine (Stompers) Roy Thompson’s group
and Carol Bradley’s crowd, and of course our own crowd who supported us well.

We
had a massive amount of requests and apart from the first two dances every dance
played had been requested, with virtually full floors on every dance. The only
demo was Nev & Julie’s “Hey Muchacha” with Carol & Tina giving a
great show right through the dance. I should be ashamed of myself for not
joining in as we learnt it in Doncaster between Christmas & New Year but to
be honest I had drunk so much by then I didn’t have a clue LOL

The
Quiz was won by Carol’s group (I think) after a tie break Question as 3 tables
all got 57 out of 61
Tie
break question – how long to the nearest foot was the train on Jordans wedding
dress ??
Answer
was 27ft and the nearest guess was 25 ft.
The
Charity raffle raised £41 which we made up to £50 and the money was donated to
WHITEOAK RESPITE CENTRE
This
is a respite centre for Adults with learning disabilities and other mental /
Physical problems. The centre (and 99% of all others) receive no money from ANY
of the mental health Charities as they all target children’s centres.
Unfortunately the disability does not go away when you turn 18. A receipt for
the money is below.

A
very big Thank-you to all that turned up and supported us and made it a
fantastic night, we have been asked by many people if we will do more dances
like this. We did speak to the manager last Tuesday at class and this may be a
possibility, we will let you all know.
